Getting started

A till for barbershops and salons that runs on an Android tablet. It records sales and how customers paid, handles refunds and gives you daily reports, and it keeps working when the internet doesn't.

Yes. Basic is free and runs on one tablet, fully offline.

Basic is one tablet that keeps everything on itself. The Shop server plan adds a small server in your shop, so several tablets share the same sales, menu and staff, and you can check the shop from any computer. See plans

Android tablets, in landscape. If you're not sure your tablet will work, email us its make and model.

The setup wizard asks whether you want Basic or the Shop server, then your shop details, logo, colours and first admin. You can be taking sales in minutes.

Yes. On Basic the wizard can load a sample shop, staff and menu. You can change all of it afterwards.

Yes. Set your currency, language format, timezone and date and time formats in the shop settings.

Yes, but plan the move. The Shop server starts with its own menu and staff, and sales already on a Basic tablet aren't moved over automatically yet. Keep a backup file of them and email us before you switch.

Each person picks their name and types their PIN, up to four digits. There's no login button to press, and it works without a connection.

Yes. Everyone has their own PIN, and every sale is recorded under the person who rang it up. You choose who is an admin.

As many as you need. Each has a name, an optional heading and subtitle, and its own items. The till is designed for up to eight.

Yes. On Basic, edit the menu in Admin on the tablet. On the Shop server plan you manage it from the admin panel on any computer, and tablets pick up the changes within seconds.

They're archived, not deleted, so past sales stay intact. You can bring them back at any time.

Cash, card terminal, PayPal and other. Add as many payment accounts as you need, for example one per card terminal, and give each an owner: the shop or a person.

Yes, in full or in part. The refund counts in the report for the day it's given, not the day of the sale.

Yes. Put the menu on the left, top or bottom, put the ticket on either side, and choose from ready-made colour palettes. See every combination

Receipts and printers

Receipts and printers

Your logo, shop name, address and VAT number, plus a header and footer you write yourself. You can add a VAT breakdown.

Printers are connected in the printer settings. Email us the make and model of yours and we'll tell you if it will work.

Not at the moment. Receipts print on your receipt printer.

Reports and VAT

Reports and VAT

A daily report for any date, with orders, gross, refunds, net and the split between cash, card and other. You can also filter the sales list by date range and person, search it, and export it to CSV.

A snapshot of today so far. Print one at any time; it doesn't close or lock anything.

No. There's no closing step. Reports always cover one calendar day in your shop's timezone, so you can print today's or an earlier day's whenever you need it.

On Basic, yes, everything is on the tablet. On the Shop server plan, today's report can be worked out from the tablet's own data, but earlier days come from the server and need a connection.

You enter your VAT number once. Receipts can show it with a VAT breakdown, and chair renters can have their own VAT number and reports. POSModo doesn't file VAT returns, so check the rules with your accountant.

Switch on a renter's own report in Staff and add their VAT number if they have one. Their sales are reported separately and left out of the shop's totals. Chair renters

No. It records and reports sales; it doesn't calculate rent or commission.

Offline and sync

Offline and sync

No. The till works without a connection. On the Shop server plan, tablets send their sales and pick up changes within seconds of being online again.

Keep selling. Tablets save sales on the device and send them when they reconnect. If a tablet can't reach the server for a while it shows a Reconnect button.

Re-pair the tablet from its settings by scanning a QR code or typing the key, and it carries on.

Shop server

Shop server

A computer in your shop that stays switched on to run the POSModo server, and tablets on the shop's network. Email us and we'll go through what suits your shop.

Yes. The admin panel runs in any web browser, and remote access lets you look at sales, reports and the menu from anywhere.

See today's takings and reports, browse and refund orders, manage the menu and categories, staff and payment accounts, edit your shop details and logo, and pair or remove tablets.

Add the tablet in the admin panel to get its pairing key, then type it in (or scan the QR code) on the tablet. To remove a tablet, delete it in the admin panel and it can no longer connect.

Tablets keep taking sales and hold them until the server is back, then send them. Ask us about backing up your server's data.

Your data

Your data

Save or share a backup file from the Backup and Database screen. The screen shows when you last backed up, and you can restore the file on any tablet.

Staff, menu, payment accounts, sales and settings, including your look. It includes staff PINs, so keep it somewhere private. On the Shop server plan the file holds the sales still on the tablet, today's, because earlier days are on the server.

On Basic, restore your latest backup on a new tablet; sales since that backup were on the lost one, so back up regularly. On the Shop server plan, delete the tablet in the admin panel so it can't connect and pair a new one. Sales it had already sent are safe on the server.

On Basic, your data is only on your tablet. On the Shop server plan it's stored on a server in your shop, and the admin panel needs an email address and password.

What it doesn't do

What it doesn't do

It's a till, not a booking or stock system. It doesn't take card payments, file VAT returns, take appointments, track stock levels or calculate rent and commission.

No. It records how a customer paid. Keep using your own card machine.

Email hello@posmodo.com. Tell us your plan, your tablet and what you see.
